Relearning Place Program
The Relearning Place Program is a collaborative initiative consisting of a diverse group of intergenerational individuals, which promotes the cross-pollination of ideas from new and old ways of thinking and learning related to land, place, and people.
Our Goal
Our goal is to relearn and reframe historically extractive relationships between land, place, and people to create new decolonial and liberatory relationships grounded in respect and reciprocity.
This will be accomplished by creating a place of practice in which we hold space for each other in complexity and plurality when our experiences are different, set boundaries when expectations exceed capacity, and recognize that conflict is an opportunity for growth and a challenge to the durability of our relationships.
About the Design Team
The Relearning Place Program (RPP) is a multigenerational, cross-racial, and intersectional group of individuals that includes representatives from the conservation sector, environmental sector, and change-making space with leadership that honors and centers black, Indigenous, and other communities of color.
In its current iteration, the steering committee includes individuals from the conservation sector, environmental education, educators, and changemakers.
